Littleton Chambers is pleased to announce that Alexander Halban, formerly of 3 Hare Court, has joined us as of Monday 14 January 2019.
Alexander was called to the Bar in 2009 and is an established practitioner in international commercial disputes, civil fraud, asset tracing and insolvency, from a wide range of jurisdictions including Europe, the Caribbean and the CIS. He has appeared as sole or junior counsel in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Privy Council and Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights.
Alexander has particular expertise in CIS disputes, as a fluent Russian speaker. He most recently appeared in National Bank Trust v Yurov, a nine-week Commercial Court trial in a Russian commercial fraud claim for US$1 billion.
Gavin Mansfield QC, head of Littleton commented, “We are delighted to welcome Alexander to Littleton. He has already developed a very strong practice in commercial litigation, civil fraud, asset tracing and insolvency, which we have every confidence he will develop further as part of the Littleton commercial team.”
When considering a chambers move with my team, I met with all the major players in the industry. Guy and Tony were our clear preferred choice.
They were authentic in their approach, challenged us when they felt it necessary and ultimately delivered a seamless service. Most importantly they showed complete discretion, which was for us the most important criteria.
Their reputation for being leaders in their field is well deserved and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
