High profile barrister joins the leading global finance firm focused on law

Aug 21st, 2018 by Hewetson & Co

Burford has hired prominent English barrister Andrew Bodnar as a vice president in its London office—CDR highlights the latest addition to its growing team:

“Andrew Bodnar’s move to third-party financier Burford Capital from Matrix Chambers comes at a time of robust growth for the global corporate intelligence, asset tracing and enforcement teams he joins, co-headed by Mike Redman and Daniel Hall; the team having reported an increase in revenue in the first half of 2018 almost 12-times that of the same period in 2017.

“Bodnar brings with him a wealth of experience in both criminal and civil cases, where he has refined his practice on asset recovery, fraud, corruption, corporate criminal liability, money laundering and has advocated before the English High Court, the United Kingdom Supreme Court and the House of Lords, as well as in proceedings brought oversees, including in a case before the Dubai International Financial Centre Court. He has also previously been a member of the UK Serious Fraud Office’s ‘A Panel’ of junior counsel.”

Testimonials

When considering a chambers move with my team, I met with all the major players in the industry. Guy and Tony were our clear preferred choice.

They were authentic in their approach, challenged us when they felt it necessary and ultimately delivered a seamless service. Most importantly they showed complete discretion, which was for us the most important criteria.

Their reputation for being leaders in their field is well deserved and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
